Tamarind Tree Pictures is a majority Indigenous, development and production company based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Our name was chosen because of the fascinating history of this tree in the Top End. Macassans, in search of the delicacy beche de mer (sea cucumbers), planted tamarind trees where they camped and many of these trees still stand today. For us, the name Tamarind Tree Pictures speaks of collaboration, sharing of culture, custom and stories.
